Solved - MJW #723 - De Vos monoposto 1939

Identify this single-seater racing car by naming the make, what it was based on, what engine was fitted and the year it was built for the point.

That's an intriguing one. It is built between 1935 and 1939 by Dutchman A.J. de Vos, and simply called De Vos or De Vos monoposto. The builder was obviously inspired by Auto Unions racers but this one was propelled by a supercharged Ford V8 engine and the body came in steel. I don't think it ever raced, and it seems to have gone lost.
