It is the Knuckey Truck Company of San Francisco, constructors of the M26 tank transporter, which was built by Pacific Car & Foundry. Some websites misspell it as Knuckney.

Hemmings had an article a while back, that included the extra "N" in the spelling. I believe "Knuckey" is correct.

Interesting. I can find something on their military trucks, but nothing of the civil production, which would interest me more.

All I could find, is that they were in business at least from 1943 to 1956 and specialized in mining and quarry truck design. In 1930 there was a "Federal Knuckey Truck Co, Federal Truck Co, Sterling Truck Co Agency parts & service" listed at 180 12th Street in San Francisco. The buildings still remain.

I believe they must have been in existance BEFORE 1943, as they made a Mining truck on which the M26 was based. Thanks nonetheless! By the way I have 1956 as an end date as well, apparently being taken over by Kenworth.

Found a newspaper article which refers to MAY 1941. Linking is not approved, but I can provide a link when needed.
