OK, I know it's been quite some time since anyone has posted an answer to this photo but I just had to chime in on this one. I just registered now after a search for the Laser GT led me here. I used to work for Elite Enterprises from 1975-1980 and I can tell you a few facts about this SUPER RARE car.
1.) There were only 4 of this kit made.
2.) 2 of them have been destroyed in accidents since they were made.
3.) 1 of them is M.I.A.
4.) The 4th and final car is sitting in my shed.
5.) The last kit was delivered on Nov. 27, 1972 to a 74 year old gentleman in Edina, MN.
6.) I purchased it in summer of 2007 as an UNBUILT kit. That's right, he never built it! !
7.) Has been in my shop ever since.
I looked at the company records at the Cokato, MN museum and found out there were only 4 of these ever made before the fire destroyed the molds for this kit and also the dune buggies Gerry was producing at the time in a old roller skating rink. Mr. Knapp (Elite Enterprises) rebuilt and started producing such kits as the Laser 917 (Porsche 917 replicar), Laser 49er mini-van, Allard J2X replicar among others.
