Title: Solved: 90. of All. - 1996 Bizzarrini PT97A aka "The Promise" Concept
Post by: Allemano on October 29, 2008, 08:37:18 AM
If you know this car I'll add one point to your account.
Sometimes it happens that I'd like to have additional informations about the designer, engine or of some characteristics.
I will let you know on these occasions!

In this case I only want to know the name of the brand. I don't know much more on myself... ;)

4 month and not a single guess....
This car is AFAIK the last of a very famous brand. Famous for much prettier cars! Perhaps the rims give some hints.

I only want to know the name of the brand. For the rest I do not have more informations!

British brand responsible for sportscars?

I made some research again and noticed the sources are not very reliable.  :-\
I have to admit that it obviousely was only a design student project... :-[
But at least they got support from the entrepreneur that had that famous name. :)

The man is not from the UK, but from sunnier regions of Europe.

But the brand is British? Or from the same country as the student?

Spain and Portugal are doubtful, as we are speaking about very famous brand (which produced sportscars?), so might it be from Italy?

That car project gets more and more mysterious to me. I don't believe my own sources anymore.

One single name of the man (who at 98% was involved) and the point is yours.
Can't give more additional and reliable information, I'm sorry!  :-[

Well, in case the entrepreneur was Italian too (you spoke about the designer before saying he was Italian, as far as I understood you?), maybe Gordini, as Amedee Gordini was Italian?
He died in 1979, but maybe his relative could support the project?

No, I didn't talk about the designer. I talked about design students!  ;)
My sources reveal that the mystery car was a students project at the end of the eighties!
The man I'd like to know only supported those students back then as an expert.
The (Italian!) brand had its most successful time in the mid-sixties and the (Italian!) man was involved in many other (Italian) car developments.

NOW the penny has to drop!

The only name that comes to my mind at the moment is Bizzarini, but they've had at least three projects after the end of eighties...

If anyone knows more about that concept let me know and I'll update the topic's title. First I will call it "Bizzarini Concept"
