Thank you,nice picture!
Sorry to bother you with another question.
SAPCAR was trying to sell cars as coachbuilders?
Questions are good !
From the concours d'elegance photos ;
The " WW " registrations were temporary ,issued in batches of 10 or so to garages / dealers ,hence the consecutive numbers ( 1152 & 1153 ) " 0 " means it's from Paris.
So it seems SAPCAR were a dealer / garage based in Paris . At the concours (when the cars were new) the cars were described as coachbuilt by Ghia ,so SAPCAR weren't claiming to have built the cars. Possibly they were French / Parisian agents for Ghia.
I believe Prince Hassan of Morocco who was a car enthusiast & spent a lot of time in Paris was connected with SAPCAR ; the cars were built by Ghia late '54 - early '55 period & then SAPCAR seems to vanish.
This ties in with Hassan having been exiled from Morocco in late '53 & returning there as it gained independence in early 1956 .
Anyone know any more about SAPCAR ?
