St.Trop and Neckar are different cars with very similar bodies. They both were made by OSI.

Mr. Djetset, what about a clear guess? Now it can't be that hard anymore!  :)
It's locked for you for about 24h.
If it's still unsolved tomorrow it will sacrificed on New Year's Eve as an Expert firecracker!  :shiner:

Djet Set already gave the answer, but wasn't able to decide...

My argument was that St. Trop & Neckar are not the same cars!

Ooops.. I have been also confused by the similarity of these two different cars.. Then it has to be Neckar St Trop Spider...

P.S. Are You really sure http://www.autopuzzles.com/forum/index.php?topic=6405.msg44592#msg44592 isn't a rerun?

Hmm... that's strange.. because It's hard to tell what are differences between these cars while looking from the top.

I don't know what's in my head these days...  :-[
I was misled by myself!
OSI 1200 S Spider and Neckar St Trop Spider are different cars!

Sorry sorry sorry! Djet Set was already correct I was confused by my own archive. Not for the first time!
I give one point to Djetset and one for Arunas, too! Please, would anyone subtract 10 points from my account?  >:(

It's an old puzzle, but I was doing some searching and stumbled upon it. Let me tell you, it still confuses me as much as a year ago, so let me try to get it straight:

The first car (grobmotorix's puzzle from March 2007) is a 1964 Neckar St. Tropez Spider.
The second car (Allemano's puzzle from December 2008) is an 1963 OSI 1200S Spider.

Did I get it right?

If yes, I suggest changing the subject to include both names (and why "St Trop" instead of "St. Tropez"??)

It's not denial, I'm just very selective about the reality I accept.

Isn't 'St Trop' what Germans (i.e. Neckar) call 'St Tropez'?
Not that that should change a proper name like the name of a car...

Hi, I like to add some informationon this issue:

OSI launched this car at the Salone Torino in 1963. The official name was OSI 1200 S Spider - it was the first car that was sold by OSI under its own name. Later they added OSI 1200 Spider, as the "1200" and the 1200 S" had different carbs and horsepower. At 1964 Salone OSI launched the OSI 1200 Coupè together with the Neckar St Trop models. These cars are identical, the only difference is the name and some badges, as Neckar was the distribution partner for Fiat based OSI cars sold outside of Italy. All names like St Tropez or Saint Tropez are no official names for these cars. There is one exception, that is made in the dutch brochure. They call the car Neckar 1200 OSI. To make a conclusion: as long as a Spider or Coupè of this type wears a Fiat badge it is either a "OSI 1200 S" or a "OSI 1200". When it wears a Neckar badge it is a 1200 St Trop.

No, St. Trop. is only short for St. Tropes.
