Chevrolet's Corvair-based Monza SS, the roadster version of the similar Monza GT. It appeared around 1963 and was widely shown through 1964.  Originally it had a MUCH better looking low-cut wraparound windscreen, the more upright windshield shown was fitted at a later date.  The car still exists in the GM Heritage Collection.

That's the car, yes!
One for the "if only" department!
Well done.

Actually, there were two different red cars. The car in the Heritage collection is (was) an operational, rear-engine automobile. It did get modified over the years, with different Mako Shark Manta Ray-like headlights and a targa bar. But the high-windshield car was a push-mobile. Neither is technically a roadster version of the Monza GT, which had its engine mounted amid-ship

Here are both of the Heritage Center cars at Meadowbrook in 2008...

Notice the wheelbase difference in the mid-engine GT and the rear-engine SS.

And here's the push-mobile in the studio, with the GT clay in the background
