Who knows any details about this vehicle?

Look closely and this will be easy...

I really like the scaffold type framework...

Earlier.

I know it´s a kind of stupid, because you will find it out in any case, but I think you should work this out first to get the point...

I´ve made the picture at the "Zentrum Industriekultur" museum in Nuremberg myself.
The photography had an undertitle, and it was even earlier...

Maurer-Union did start in 1898, but I don't think they started with cars and trucks as well, so I try 1900.

As one who has portraits of his great-great-great grandparents, Wilhelm & Mimi Maurer of Darmstadt, hanging on his wall I wonder if Ludwig Maurer of Nürnberg might have been related.
Pretty common name, Maurer, I fear.
Opinionated but sometimes wrong

It is quite common as you can see here. I do have Maurer relatives myself...

The name means just the craftsman who lays bricks to construct brickwork.

Here´s the geographic map of all Maurer´s in Germany:

Yes I know - "mason" in english is pretty common too.
Then there are the Freemasons/Freimaurer . . .
