Ah! I'm guessing 'bondo' might be Americano for 'filler' - in the same way that 'jello' is apparently jam?

Yes on the first part - Bondo is a widely-used filler.
No on the second part. "Jelly" is similar to jam;. "Jello" is flavored gelatin.
