The info I have is not very specific about the make of engine; however, it's possible to make an eductaed guess. In any case, it's the format of the engine which is unusual

If it's bigger than normal and in the rear, it almost would have to be a boxer. Perhaps a 6 cylinder?

Steyr Puch Project S with Vignale body and four cyl. boxer in the rear. Actually they took two 2cyl boxers assembled to one engine.

Correct! Built for Max Hoffmann. I can't find any definitive answer for this, but I presume that the two-cylinder engines joined together to make a 'four' were Fiat 500...

Does anyone maybe know where the colour photo was taken?
It's not denial, I'm just very selective about the reality I accept.

Fiat 500 had a 2 cylinder in line engine. But the Austrian Steyr-Puch 500/650/700 version had its own two-cylinder boxer by Puch.

DynaMike - I agree it's probably the Steyr twin doubled up.
As for where the pic was taken, I have no idea. How many transport museums are there in Austria?
