That may be correct, but I was going to say Bugatti Type 57 with body by Ghia (1953), if that would be more accurate.

Bugatti T57 is what I was looking for, the designer and builder ID's were an added bonus.  ;)

Given the number of different variants of the T57, including the Atlantic coupé and the 'tank' sports/racer, I think that the designer/coachbuilder is part of the designation of any of them.  Particularly as this one is coachbuilt and hasn't got the Bugatti hallmark 'horseshoe' radiator.

See ...no link... for the basic variations.

This is the Bugatti #57385, Type 57s rebuilt in 1952 in this shape by Roger Tunesi, who later created the still-alive "Caravanes Jean et Jacques". As far as I know there is no connection with Giacinto Ghia.

Whilst searching for new puzzles I came across this picture (which is of course the same one as the puzzle car), which was described as a 1956 Ghia-bodied Bugatti!

More Web misinformation...!

Another site says that whilst it's often referred to as a T-57 that's wrong and it's actually a T-50 rebodied in 1952...

No visible puzzle photo...

A rather unknown photo of the Tunesi Bugatti:
