No Frank Clark connection I'm aware of. At a later time, this one was tagged "Boss Capri"; but not as it is pictured here.

Locked for you until I've responded to your next reply.

You're right Clark's car used the Ferguson four wheel drive system, which the car pictured hasn't got.  The only other people who used to experiment with V8 in Mk 1 Capris was Jeff Uren who developed the project in South Africa and called it the Piranha.....or Mick Hill who based his projects around a Gurney Weslake 4.7 litre V8 engine.  The cars were financed by Geoff Ackling and raced in the super-saloon series in the early to mid 1970's driven by Tony Strawson.  Later an 8 litre Chevy engine was used.

So I'm going to plumb for Mick Hil's 4.7 litre car............if its not then I'll leave open to the forum.

Bingo!

Mick Hill and his two companions, Dave Steeples and Trev Henshaw, and their Capri. The body of the car from the front bulkhead backwards was metal, with a sub frame front and rear to take the suspension. Front, double wishbone suspension and brakes came courtesy of a Lola T70 crashed at the start of the 1970 BOAC 1000 race. Ford’s original metal doors were retained but the whole front end was a one-piece fibreglass unit. Mick fell back on his experience with the J’anglia, Jaguar engined Anglia, and used a Jaguar gearbox connected to a jaguar limited slip differential and modified Jaguar suspension. All four wheels were 15 inches diameter by 10 inches wide, the racing tyres being changed to suit the conditions. A 5000ccV8 engine was placed well back in the chassis, the rear 4 cylinders being inside of the cabin. This ex-Formula 5000, Gurney-Weslake unit gave out 430 bhp.
