Getting colder.

Return to the path you left, adjust the quantity, and add some other parts.  8)

Band 2/Letter C--Hubb Kapp and the Wheels

Obviously, Letter C is a picture of some Chevy/GMC truck hubcaps and wheels.

No, it doesn't. There name includes a place, and a thing, the juxtaposition of which is subtly suggested by one of the other pictures. .

Is Pic E supposed to be "The Cardinals?"

They look more like bishops to me.

You said that band #4 wasn't the Phaetons.
allright. There's only #6 left.

Now, about Part #E. Is there "parade" in the name you're looking for?

I've been chasing this one for weeks, but picked up a clue at last!  ;D

The band is called Dashboard Confessional.

The solution:

Band 1 / Bachman Turner Overdrive   / neilshouse
Band 2 / Hubb Kap and the Wheels / Aaron65
Band 3 / Mitch Rider and the Detroit Wheels / Tom_I
Band 4 / The Tailfins / Ray B.
Band 5 / The Carburetors / neilshouse
Band 6 / Dashboard Confessional / Tom_I
Parts A / Detroit Wheels by Kelsey Hayes / Tom_I
Parts B / A pair of carbs / neilshouse
Parts C / Hub Cap and Wheel Diagram / Aaron65
Parts D / Cadillac Tailfins / Ray B.
Parts E / Confessional Professionals, in proximity to a dashboard / Tom_I
Parts F / (Laycock de Normanville) Overdrive / neilshouse

And the points:

neilshouse = 4
Aaron65 = 2
Tom_I = 4
Ray B. = 2

By the way, did a recent broadcast on PBS help with this answer? Just curious.

Actually no!  Just a little messing around with search words.  That lead guy in the front has some crazy hair!  Am I wrong in saying that these guys are kind of a New Zealand "Sha Na Na?"

They are from Arizona, and started as a parody bit on a kid's TV show that later became The Wallace and Ladmo Show. Their 15 seconds of fame landed them on some regional charts, and on Steve Allen's TV show.

I was quite surprised to see them on an episode of the PBS series Pioneers of Television that I had recorded on DVR.
