Below is a selection of twenty-four cropped photos of various vehicles. Each of the photos can be matched to another by something they have in common - the names they are known by. To win points in this puzzle, you must correctly match two photos, and provide the name the represented vehicles share. No points for just naming one or more vehicles, so there is no benefit in just posting name of a vehicle you recognize, unless you want to assist another AutoPuzzler in stealing away the points you hope to score.
So, very basic, and hopefully, enjoyable.

None of the cars mentioned in my above posts were on Aaron65's reply #3 when I posted them.
I believe his reply has been edited to include them after I posted them, perhaps without noticing I had already posted at least one identical answer!
(Think my AMC Matador identification is incorrect anyway)

A bit awkward...after I posted my 4th ID (the Matador one), my edit time was about 7 seconds after yours. I did the 3rd ID (the 770) before that one...I'll defer to Otto if either of us is correct.

Yes - they must have been pretty simoultaneous!
It's better with group puzzles like this just to post a new reply rather than edit - then there's no confusion!
Certainly when I wrote my replies your only ID was the Pacers.

Sorry folks - no matches after reply #27 will be awarded points, as I mistakenly reveled the rest of the answers on page one. >:(
Puzzle closed - I'll award earned points later.
Thank you to the honest AutoPuzzler who pointed out my error.
-
That's OK with me. I misunderstood your remark about reply #14 as a clue. I didn't want to cheat.
The Hotchkiss was a nice one: I had thought of the other body names Biarritz and Monte Carlo, but couldn't find a suitable Cadillac or Renault Clio or Chevrolet or Lancia :)
-
No accusation cheating here. Given the 'who posted first' event yesterday, I thought it best to eliminate any chance of a conflict.
Congrats to Aaron, Wendax & Carnuts, for a game well- played.
Points awarded:
Carnut 1
Wendax 3
Aaron65 5
Nobody 3 ;)

The AMC Pacer is specifically a 1978-1980 model.
