This is my last shot at this.  I'm guessing a postal vehicle can't be 'retired'
from the German postal service and keep it's "Deutsche Bundespost" markings.
Same rule applies if displayed in a museum.

I have no idea, but it has nothing to do with What is Wrong with this Car as presented.

The fact that it has "Deutsche Bundespost" on the side is a hint.  It is not what is wrong.

Deutsche Bundespost only used Isettas with Bubble-Window on the rear to carry the "freight" dry?

Ta Da!  A Point for you!

The lack of extended rear window was the answer I was looking for.
In addition to being used on the earlier "Standard" or Bubble Window style Isettas, the Deutsche Bundespost versions had that extended or "bumped out" rear window to accommodate more mail or small packages.   Since these were made of Perspex (Acrylic) for the German models, it was probably not a big deal to blow them out a bit more for the Postal service.

I have never seen an image of an Isetta used for the Deutsche Bundespost that did not have that extended rear window.
If anyone has an example of something from the period that shows something different,(with regards to the Postal Service Isetta) I would love to see it.

also- see additional image of a 1:12 scale model of the Deutsche Bundespost Isetta.  I'm not saying a model is a definitive answer to anything but it does help reinforce the use of that special rear window option on the Postal version of the Isetta.

So really it's inexcusable to put this car on display in a museum with such a fundamental fault.  When something is there to represent something historical it needs to be right and this should be taken up with them.

I saw lots of scale models that didn't the extended rear light, maybe I should've searched using a different focus.

But hey, who needs the bubble's extra room when you can use a trailer?

BTW, the Deutsche Bundespost was abbreviated DBP in order to differentiate from Deutsche Bahn (=DB), the German railway.

CALL MAX MOSLEY!! - No wait, probably not the right person.  I know I said I'd given up on this one, but I see someone else 'objects' as well judge.

BTW - what was the other thing that wasn't right with this car?

the body style should have been what is known as a "STANDARD" or Bubble Window model, not an "EXPORT" or Sliding Window model.

I posted a puzzle about the difference between the two of those earlier:
