Who, What, Where, When type of puzzle.
What is required is the car make/model, the event and year, who is driving and what is happening in the photo?

Since the grill is in 3 pieces it can only be an Aston Martin DB2 from 1950. Looks like the guy on the left trying to give the driver a drink ...

You're getting there slowly.
Yes it is a DB2 Aston but earlier than 1950 and yes the guy on the left is carrying a beer out to the driver.
So - can you name the event, year and the driver?
I'll lock it for you until your next reply......

Found it thanks to Google (again): I typed in 'Aston Martin DB2 1949 beer' (dont't know if that last one did it  :D) and found this:

Then I found out the rest:

it's the second of the three works cars built in 1949 known at Works as "Le Mans Fixed Head Coupes" (LML/49/4 is a road car built for David Brown using the same lines).

LMA/49/2 is the only survivor with the 2-litre 4 cylinder engine (as LMA/49/1 crashed).

Body number 48002.
Engine: original engine SPA4/49/2 tranferred to AMC/48/2 then SPA/49/9. Has also had EN4/49/28.
Registration: UMC 65.

And the original picture:

taken in Spa 1949 with Macklin stopping for a cold beer !

Unfortunatly, it looks like this today

Yes, very well done!
Amazing really that the photo was taken on the Masta straight during the race!
Those were the days!

Also amazing (in today's view) that he stopped for a beer. He might have added a shot of whisky.
