It's indeed electric and built by IFA in Werdau.  :thumbsup:

I know just a little bit more about it but the designation EL 2500 is new to me.

There is a name on front of the car which I cannot fully decipher, perhaps you know more on the subject? Locked for you!

The name at the front is Bergmann, because they are rebodied Bergmann EL 2500, as I recall.

Zentralbild Funck 29.9.1953 Neue Fahrzeuge der Deutschen Post Im Postfuhramt in Berlin wurden 15 neue Spezial-Elektrowagen für den Briefkastenentleerungsdienst gezeigt, die am 1.10.53 von der Oberpostdirektion in Betrieb genommen werden. Die Wagen - eine Konstruktion von Ingenieur Rebbel- wurden bei IFA-Werdau gebaut und dienen vor allem dem Schutz des Fahrers, der nur nach rechts aussteigen kann und auch vor Witterungseinflüssen geschätzt ist.
