You know what to do...
-
1 up
-
Utopian?
-
No, from a real and still existing country ;D
-
Pro's?
-
Scandinavian?
-
not from there
-
French?
-
Non.
-
British?
-
You'll get there. But not just yet..
-
German maybe?
-
you're running in circles around your destination :D
-
Dutch?
-
Jazeker!
-
From 1920s?
-
Not from the twenties..
-
Hmmm... wild guess then: 1940s?
-
ca.1905-1918?
-
ca.1905-1918?
Yes, indeed
-
I can't recall it from the book by Lammerse, which I have seen a zillion times, so I assume it's not in there. However, might it be a Simplex?
-
No, not a Simplex
-
Entrop maybe? He was known for 3 wheelers.
-
I'll guess Metz.
-
Twice no
-
Autolette?
-
I'm learning a lot a makes here :) Sorry, it's not that either.
-
Eysink?
-
Not Eysink...
-
Metzmobiel?
-
I have no name for the car, just the name of the builder, with time and place.
-
Off to the hole...
-
Autolette?
-
no, just like 2.5 months ago ;)
-
Oh - I didn't see that.
Could the name of the builder be Fa. S. Bingham & Co. of Rotterdam?
-
No Bingham and not from Rotterdam
-
Vaghi MV Bambina?
-
Hillen?
-
Twice no.
-
A long shot but is it a 'one-off' built by Albert Mulder?
-
It's an one off, but not by him.
-
Noord-Holland build?
-
Trying the Dutch provinces one by one? ;)
You're in luck. North Holland it is. :D
-
Indeed, that seemed the easier way. Guessing names from the Lammerse-written book I guess might not get me to the answer.
Amsterdam?
-
From a much smaller place...
-
There a quite a lot still, but let's go with Haarlem.
-
Not from a town, but from a village
-
Between Den Helder and Alkmaar?
-
No, south of Alkmaar
-
Enkhuizen?
-
No, to the south of Alkmaar ;)
-
Ah, I had to look it up, but indeed.
Purmerend?
-
Very close now..
-
Beemster?
-
....er!
-
Wormer?
-
 Wormer it is! Locked for you to come up with the builder's name. ;)
-
Metz maybe?
-
Not Metz.
-
I am a bit baffled. Not because of Metz, but I cannot seem to find any reference to such a car. In the Netherlands.
-
The photo can be found online. ;)
Shortly after building this car, the builder emigrated to the USA
-
In the list of cars registrated in Holland around the turn of the century I do not find Wormer, only Wormerveer. The same name pops up there constantly.
-
I think I found it.
Good find!
"Cees Waal met vrouw in zelfgemaakte auto voordat
hij onverwachts vertrok naar Amerika. Rechts nog de
gashouder." so the builder is Cees Waal. Picture was supposedly taken around 1915.
Waal had a bicycle repairshop (left)
