Not that I'm much into Vettes, but I think this here "Whaddyacallit" was not the way to go.
Looking more like a personal car/T-bird competeter than a sports car.
The '58-'62s were kind of a heavy handed re-style of the near perfect '56-'57s, but the '58-'62s saved money using most of the allready existing Corvette guts in order to concentrate on the next big deal
being the hugely succesfully styled '63 to '67 sting Ray.

That's my slant on it, what's yours?

LOL - I thought I remembered the picture with the T-bird, but the resource I found first showed the same exact shot with a 300SL.

And V3, I can't disagree with your analysis. I've owned many Corvettes over the years and currently drive a C6 convertible.  I'm looking to purchase a nice 1958-60 C1, always liked them myself.  Not sure at all I would want a Corvette styled like the subject car.

Great quiz subject, but obviously I'm biased!

That's exactly mine.

Corvette show car?  For World's Fair?

Seems f1fan first ID'd this as a Corvette, but it was missed. Point due?

I checked the topic, Otto, and here is what I'd say: he did, but it was an incomplete ID (and erroneous when he spoke of a show car), so the tpic was locked for him(and Vincent Vell Vet) 48 hours.
none of them could complete the ID in due time and the lock was lifted.
Then fyreline came up with a complete identification and got the point, as it seems customary to me in Autopuzzles "rules".
