Moe Howard was a very influential actor of the mid-20th century period. To the best of my knowledge, his on-screen exploits have nothing to do with the actions of the gentleman standing next to this car.

Know the story? For 1 point, please respond below to identify the vehicle pictured (if you don't know, you're in the wrong place), and the story behind the man, the driver, and the car.

Well the car is a Singer Gazelle and although it's r.h.d. I guess the photo is in the USofA as you use the sharp sign (#) to mean "Number" which we would have abbreviated to "No." in those days, even if the US usage is creeping in now.

I added the #1; it replaces some text that would be a dead giveaway to part of the solution.

A Singer Gazelle with only 2 doors?
I would have said it's a Sunbeam Rapier..

Grille's wrong for a Rapier, and it could be a drophead which IIRC was only a 2-door - not that they made many of 'em.

Not her. But a driving lesson is part of the answer.

As we already found out, the car is a Singer Gazelle convertible. The rest of the story is:
Quote
Hypnotist Henry Blythe, gives his daughter Sally, 17, advice before she starts a driving lesson at Torquay, England, Jan 15, 1960. Blythe says he hypnotizes her as he has some 40 other new drivers, all of whom have passed their test. Sally has not yet taken her test.
