Solved - NEH 1378: Triumph TR3 Michelotti - 1957

1 point for identifying this car, its designer and when it was built:

Google Image Search continues to raise its ugly head on AutoPuzzles.
For the sake of our newer members who may not be aware of past discussions on it, Google Image Search as a means of solving puzzles is banned on this website.

AutoPuzzles is primarily a game of automotive knowledge, not of who can copy and paste the quickest.

We ask all members to remember and respect this, and retain the right to ask puzzle-solvers how they came to their answer.

Have fun!

So that rules out Peerless and Warwick, I think.

It does indeed; there's no connection with them.

Sorry, no - there's no connection with either Allemano or Abarth.
It is from the same year though, which might go some way to explaining the similarity.

Prototype TR4 Michelotti 1957

It's a Triumph by Michelotti all right, and it's from 1957.
But it isn't a TR4 and I wouldn't really call it a 'prototype' either..
Locked for you to come up with what it is more accurately.

Correct!
The one on the right is a well known one-off of course but I've never seen another picture of its non-identical twin on the left.  Do you know of any others? In that case you did very well to find this, as the car seems to be almost unknown.

Below is another picture of the well-known other one for good measure.

You seem to have a very deep knowledge of the cars on AutoPuzzles SACO and have amassed a large number of points in a relatively short time.  Is it possible we might be seeing some puzzles of your own posted eventually?  We'd love to..
