the Bristol 401 Superleggera prototype, was built in summer 1947: it was very similar to the Superleggera cars built with italian chassis. this 1947 Bristol was a demo car: infact all the drawings, the construction system and the production will take place in Filton, at Bristol aeroplane Company.

That's it:  it's the original Touring-bodied Bristol 401 prototype form 1947!

I found this image on Wikipedia that also states that it's a prototype.   ???

Obviously, not the same car.  Was there more that one made?

Well, there can of course be more than one prototype of a car but in this instance probably not.
It may well be the same car: my puzzle photo shows it as found, before restoration, but your photo probably shows it post-restoration.  The registration number is not an original one but what the DVLA likes to call an 'age-related' plate, which to the unitiated might look just like an original plate from an older car but actually looks all wrong to the registration anorak like me!

I can't really see any differences; I'd say it's the same car.

Yes... A total of six cars!

This red is the only restored.There is another red #4 (unrestored-picture) and this navy one
