The Mazda Cosmo 21


A concept car that debuted at the 2002 Tokyo Auto Salon. It was based in the chasis of a Mazda MX-5 Miata and had the engine of a RX-8. Extensive new bodywork made the vehicle look like the original Cosmo, although the proportions were different due to the Miata chasis

It was killing me because I thought the shape look so familiar, but I couldn't place it. Here's what teh original looks like.

I usually hate these 'retro' cars, but this one actually looks pretty good. I'd rather have this than a new 'Mini' or Beetle anyday! They'd have to do something about the dreadful interior first though....
