I don't know whether the car ever had a proper name. It was developped in 1954 by Helmut Pater for Hans Schmidt in Lambertheim, Germany. Pater was formerly chief constructor at Kleinschnittger, Schmidt was made his money by carpet wholesale.  The small roadster had a 398 cc two-stroke engine by Ilo, driving the front wheels. It was intended to be produced in series, but remained an one-off.

Wendax - you simply kill me. :o

I don´t think we will find too many german car puzzles you will not know...

:applause:

I´m not at home at the moment. But as far as I can remember, this vehicle had body panels that were taken from Westfalia trailers to avoid the high costs for steel pressing...

You're right about the Westfalia trailer bodypanels. Must be one of the reasons for this sleek design  :D
