More has been learned about Veritas Spohn Customs. Two were built! This is according to Lieutenant Arthur S. Cooper who was a co-owner of one of the cars and who unfortunately passed away just last month.
The subject car, originally owned by Cooper and his USAF pilot buddy, C.F. Bauer, was originally monotone Turquoise in color and had a full zebra skin interior installed at these owner's specification after a rest and relaxation hunting trip from Germany to Africa netted them several skins. Photographic proof attached and evidence is still present in the car though the vast majority has been replaced. Current owner of this car is the Hartung auction buyer, Dale Walksler and is being concours shown in barn find condition as well as on display at his South Carolina business. The car has been brought up to running /driving condition.
According to Cooper they bought the car after witnessing the original Spohn livery on the Veritas Scorpion be destroyed during race competition by a roll over accident.
The second Veritas Spohn Custom was constructed in largely similar dimensions but the circumstances, colors and other details are not clear as yet and now may never be known.
