Which begs the question:Where did you get this picture? (I think there is another puzzle with the same solution with the white car). I only have seen a green version on a picture and mentioned puzzle one.

I am really interested in more info (I do have a bit, but not to sure of all of it)

I'd like to request that you put "Shamrock" in the title for the benefit of people potentially searching AP in the future.

The Irish plate would suggest however it is (re) imported.

It was forgotten then and to mention it now will not -most probably - result in any behaviour change.

Shamrock - one of Ireland's only ever cars
In Ireland there are supposed to be some, but seen 0. Not in classic car gatherings, have not found any info on museums having these... where are they?

The original press release for this car has just appeared on the Forgotten Fiberglass website.
Apparently the 1959 Austin A55-engined car was to be manufactured by Shamrock Motors of Guildford, Surrey.
There is no mention anywhere on the press release of any Irish connection!

QUOTE
Preview Of the “Shamrock”
New Plastic Body Car With A55 Engine (1959)

A preview was held today at East Molesey of the “Shamrock” – family sports saloon.  It is a plastic bodied family sports saloon, designed from British Motor Corporation components by Mr. W. Curtis an American – and produced by Shamrock Motors, Guilldford, Surrey.

It has a (Austin) A 55 engine – and the bodywork is made from Cellobond Polyster Resins and glass fibre.  The removable hood is made from aluminum.  Primarily for export, the car is priced at 900 pounds, is low and streamlined, with transatlantic lines.

The doors, bonnet, and boot lid are prepared in a compound mold, giving a perfect finish inside and out.  Keystone Photo Shows Joan Howard (24) of Mottingham sits inside the huge boot of the new car – to illustrate its large capacity today

Georgano states the address as Tralee, Co. Kerry. He quotes that according to "Automobile Engineer" the maker's address was in Guildford "while the Tralee factory is being equipped for production." Quite possibly the Irish Government were providing financial incentives to encourage new industry to the area, but when Curtis realised the whole scheme was a loser he didn't take the matter any further.

(Tralee in the 50s would have been a bit like the Ireland of "The Quiet Man" - factories, what factories?)
I must be right - that's what it says on Wikipedia

The very name 'Shamrock' shouts Ireland, doesn't it?
The truth must be out there.
I wonder if the young lady in the boot was a Rose of Tralee?!
