Who is she, and why is she in an AutoPuzzle? For 1 point, please respond below and identify this young lady with the faraway look in her eyes, and an automobile she is readily associated with.

My first move today would have been :Spanish-French singer Gloria Lasso (born Rosa Coscolin). It's not her, but the photogrphic style still seems french to me.

I'm probably thinking about this too much, but looking at the guitar, it seems to be a classical Spanish type. However, it has a golpeador (or scratchplate) fitted, to protect the soundboard finish from the player's fingernails, which is more characteristic of a Flamenco guitar.

So is there a Flamenco connection, or am I just being silly?

I though somebody would know her, as she was truly something special. Once upon a time, she was a quite prolific and popular singer.

Once again, I've been too generous with my clues.

She's also associated with a couple of other cars, both of which seem to have been for sale in the not-too-distant past.

I am so stupid! I could have had this one easily. Of course you were too generous with your clues, and I soon stumbled upon this name... But (maybe because I has the Buffalo in mind) I always supposed that Dusty Springfield was a man, and didn't check for a photo.

I picked up on the clues (eventually), but couldn't quite bring myself to believe that was her in the photo. I've since found the picture online - it must be from the very early days when she was performing as Mary O'Brien, before the Lana Sisters, before The Springfields, before her main solo career.

There's a very small memorial stone in the churchyard at Henley-on-Thames in Oxfordshire, UK. I've never seen it without tributes placed around it.
