Interesting picture!

I knew Willy Bernath customised cars in the forties, but I've only seen pictures of the Citroën Traction Avant he created in 1944 ...

Any more pictures of this Jaguar based creation?

Yep absolutely right. Winner of the Grand Prix at Cannes in 1946. Should be restored as Bernath bodied car.. A similar Alfa Romeo has also survived (1933 Alfa Romeo 6C 1750 Convertible s/n 121215058), as well as the Citroën Delorean refers to.

We've had another of his cars before - an Alfa:

the colour picture featured is one of my copyright photos that we allowed Roland Urban to use in his book "Les metamorphoses du Jaguar" published 1993 and in fact about 30% oif the photos in this book I provided to Roland for the book.
As a matter of courtesy and for copyright condierations it would pay to note source of pics used.

I just bought that book!

I think the book is very interesting although it's not definitive. Recommended if you can find a copy.

It's a pity the binding isn't stronger or of a different type.
The first one I had came apart but the second one seems better.
'Handle with care' would be my advice.

I am doing a book that will be definitive work on coachbuilt SS SS Jaguars and Jaguar cars.
It will only cover projects done by recognized coachbuilders and will cover the history of some 200 cars.
I will be a large format 400-500 page book as per my previous works see <<< link removed >>>
for pages from my current book

660851:

Links are forbidden in the puzzles threads, as outlined here:

http://www.autopuzzles.com/forum/index.php?topic=20153.0

This is your first warning.

Using the forums to promote your own site or revenue stream is generally frowned upon in puzzle threads, as well.

660851: please don't take Otto's warning the wrong way.

Please remember, this is a very friendly place where everyone is welcomed.

The reason you are not credited in this puzzle thread as the source of the color photo, because this is not how this site works.

But we all admire your in-depth knowledge of Jaguar cars. If you would like to introduce your book to us, I'd suggest writing a short story in the Features section, where you can also link your book description page.

Please let me know if I can be of any assistance

I think it might also help to clarify that only links to sites other than this one (external links) are forbidden.  Links to topics or images on this site (internal) are allowed.

One thing that can be confusing (it has been to me) is the fact that there are external links in the Solved Puzzles subforum, apparently because linking wasn't prohibited at the site's inception.

The way I've dealt with it is to avoid posting links anywhere, anytime.

I also only post my photos in the Racing section (since I'm a Land Speed Racer) and have earned a couple of (gentle) hand slaps for posting contemporary photographs in topics where I thought they would have been appropriate.  So to avoid that in the future, I just don't participate in the topics that say, "contributions welcome."
