Can you identify this car (make and year)? That's fairly straightforward, but to earn a point you will also need to find who it was made for, and what makes it unusual.

There seem to be plenty of rookie puzzles at the moment, so let's move this up to the experts.

Dupont Camp car..built between (1910) & 1915. Thomas Coleman du pont..who used the vehicle during his supervision of the construction of the DuPont Highway. It is special for being the 1st camping type of vehicle.

Well, yes up to a point, but the car is not a Dupont, or even a du Pont.

I'll lock the puzzle until your next reply, or 24 hours whichever is sooner, for you to identify the make and date of the vehicle on which this camper is based.

Oops, it is a 1910 Stoddard-David Camping car. Sticker price was $1,200 to $6,200..very expensive. Senator T. Colman du Pont, used this vehicle during the building of the du Pont Highway, in his home state of Deleware.

Almost, but it's not "David".

Still locked for you to make the final correction.

1910 Stoddard-Dayton. Interesting that one website says David..instead of Dayton.
