I think this is the Dangel Mangouste Barchetta, a Renault 8 Gordini-powered race series cup car made from 1967-70.

It was also known as the Dangel 812. Here's another picture of it taken at Reims last year.

Gosh, talk about wrong time, wrong place! I know this one but stuck on a long (and boring) conference call so can't bring the car to mind.

It's French, and could be a Fournier Marcardier barquette, but something doesn't quite ring true. Will apply more thought when my brain is fully-engaged.

Are you sure this is a Marcadier?
I have it as a Dangel 812 of 1969.
See image below of the Dangel and the Marcadier for comparison - note the shape of the rear wings and other differences.

Hence my confusion! I think I can safely say that it is not the Dangel though, as there are clear differences in the rear wing panels, doors, etc.

I got the picture from a French website, although needless to say I can't find it any more.. It was definitely described as a Marcadier there, but looking at the Dangel I would say on balance it looks very much like that rather than the Marcadier.

I've scanned a picture from a book, below, and I would say that my puzzle is in fact a car like this.

I may have to re-allocate the point... Any further thoughts?

Just came across this view of a Dangel Mangouste 812 of 1969 that may compare well with the puzzle car as the view is from the same angle.

As much as I hate to lose a point, now that I look again and concerntrate fully, I do know what this is and I have to concide that it is the Dangel Mangouste, so I guess Woodinsight should be awarded the point as he got there before me (curse that dull conference call!).

I'm afraid you're just going to have to put up with being allocated the point, woodinsight, as I have now re-allocated it! I'm convinced you are correct, as is Djetset now anyway, so you have earned it legitimately.

I think Djetset deserves the point as much as I do as we both had misgivings regarding the true identity.
