The position of the front wheel (and the roadster in the background) would make me think of a Citroën 2CV as base... (even though the position of the engine seems a bit too far to the rear).

I used to think I knew a lot about '50s 'specials' until I came to this site....  ::)

Looks like it might be an early Rochdale body?

I don't know what body was used but you could be correct.

Looks a bit like an open version of the Autobodies Mk 1 might do. Probably on a Ford Prefect, Anglia or Popular chassis.
Opinionated but sometimes wrong

It is Ford based.
As I indicated I don't know which make of body is fitted but Autobodies Mk1 looks a good guess to me.

However the car does have a name - xxxxxx Ford Special.
I'll lock it for you until your next reply Allan in case you may have the answer.

It's not an early Buckler creation is it?

That's what I thought at first as the body looks as though it might have been built by Galt Glass - supplier of bodies for early Bucklers.
Quite honestly - I don't know.
It's the first time I've come across this car.

I know it's Ford powered and has a name.
Hopefully someone will fill in the missing details.

Rather than place this one in the Black Hole let's try to solve it by a few easy clues.....

The name is xxxBLY FORD SPECIAL

I don't know any more details about it so have a guess!
