Kleinstwagen from Belgium, an attempt to turn the technical base, the Kleinschnittger F 125, into a more grown-up looking car. But the weight was too much for the small engine.

Interestingly, my information conflicts with what you say,as this car was supposed to have either a 300 or 400cc engine.

You´re right, but even a 350 or 400ccm engine might have been too small to push this car forward at acceptable pace:

For the time, it would've been reasonable for this type of car. It was just to expensive to make.

I just knew the picture  of the roadster (from the Rosellen-Kleinwagen-book?). Well, learned something new, again.

Not Rosellen, but Thyssen-Bornemissca. ;)

Could it be a hard-top cabriolet? I don't know!

As well Rosellen as Thyssen-Bornemissza, since Hanns-Peter Rosellen was 'adopted' and became Hanns-Peter Baron von Thyssen-Bornemissza. Perhaps quite useful, when he was car editor for the "Bunte" journal in Germany. I have got an older edition of his "Deutsche Kleinwagen" book, so it's Rosellen for me. ;)

The Belgians write (Kupelan e.a.) that multiple prototypes have been made, both as twoseater convertible and as coupe.

Aha...

Kleinschnitger also made a scale model of a different looking coupé for de Reuck.

Here´s the beginning of the De Reuck "La Kleinstwagen":

the ad shows a standard Kleinschnittger!

Are you sure that it was standard? In the ad they claim it has been reinforced for the rough Belgian roads.

I just wanted to show that the beginnings have started with the known and (merely) untouched Kleinschnittger design.
