Ray B.

There is a very tight relation between #9 and this man.

And a much more farfetched (and semantic) relation between #7 and this woman.

Otto Puzzell

You wanna be the man, you gotta Name That Car!

Ray B.

Actress, singer. Very famous in her time.

If I were to tally the points now, we'd have:
Ehhxekt, jotage 21: 6 pts
Allemano: 2 pts

Unfortunately there's still two cars unidentified, despite the clues given, and they'll all have to wait.
;D

The loneliness of the forgotten puzzles...

This (see reply #25) is a SELF-portrait. As for the nationality of the artist, it should made obvious by one look at picture #9 in the first page of this puzzle.

... as for the girl who was a clue for #7 (see replies 26 and 29), she passed away last Sunday...

Allemano

Ray B.

Fine. Now you've got another clue in reply 13, and guess what the name of this girl is...

I assume No9 is a French film and the clue self-portrait shows the director. Right?

Ray B.

A french film, yes. Not the director, but even more concerned by the film, which is totally inspired by his work.

Was this clue-guy to No9 an artist, like a painter?

Ray B.

I said it was a self portrait, right? Not exactly a painter. But very well known (in France at least) in his time.

Was he active in cartoons or caricatures?

Ray B.

The word cartoon is too vague. Let's say yes, cartoonist, illustrators. I don't believe he made many caricatures (no political drawings as far as I know). He illustrated several books, made a few famous movie posters.

Ray B.

No.
This guy's style is very consistent, whatever the medium, cartoon or movie poster. Here's another example.

The movie is La Rue sans Loi, the guy is Albert Dubout, the car, well, I don't know yet

Ray B.

#46
Very well done, as this movie isn't mentioned on the Albert Dubout page (only on a "Dubout" page) on imdb!
The car is to be a "made for movie" car. The specialized website doesn't know more. I doubt that you could, and it's not what we're after.

Only one left!

Lena Horne is phonetically similar to the name of the clue girl, right?

Ray B.

Yes. Not her whole name, only half of it.
Add that and the action that you see the clue girl doing, and you're halfway home!

It's like finding a needle in haystack. In the first clue, that girl is jumping over a haystack. Is that from a movie?
