Ah ha, I've just this car in a 1999 magazine, where it is definately listed as a GT Developments Sportstar, based on a Ford Fiesta.  GTD developed the car for a middle-east client who then pulled out of the deal, so the whole project was put up for sales by GTD and Midtec bought it; built a coupl as the Sportstar and then evolved the later Calico from this car.  Does this help crystalise the situation?

P.S. Quiller, I'm digging the 21.  If ever you need a spare Mondeo tail light, I have one in my garage.
A car is for life, not just for Christmas.

Could you possibly scan the page in? As I say, the name I have is different, but then projects often evolved through several different names. If 'Sportstar' is correct, the point should go to CKC (and I may even be generous and give you a point too, Djetset!)

I'm overseas at the moment so can't scan the page in.  I will when I get back home, but until then, here's a photo of it to keep you happy.

Thanks for the pic. I've given DJ & CKC a point each. Seems this was known as BOTH the Sportstar and Spyder!
