The Ongoing Insides...
« on: July 19, 2010, 12:21:33 PM »
I've missed this place greatly, but with a lack of time, occasionally computers and more frequently internet, it's hard to maintain a brood of puzzles that constantly cry out for help like little birds in a nest slowly abandoned by it's mother. *ahem*, analogies aside, I'd like to come back to posting puzzles, but rather than overturn the entire website with hundreds of new puzzles, I'm gonna start with just the one thread.

This, like one of my other multi-puzzles, will contain interiors of cars only. Some of the interiors (if not most) will be re-posts of other cars already posted, but as you're not seeing the outside I personally don't see much of a problem with it.
I will post 1 puzzle at a time, and people must compete to solve that one puzzle before the next one gets posted. There will be strictly no holding of points, first in is best dressed and a point richer.
Once a correct answer has been given, I will award the point at my earliest convenience along with posting a new puzzle, and the process will repeat itself.
This allows me to post a large volume of puzzles in a minimal volume of threads (1...), thus somewhat curbing the frequently lamented trend of exponential growth.

Please keep in mind that I won't always be available (moving internationally tends to have that effect on internet usage...), so please do be patient sometimes.

Let's start off with an easy one!

Thanks.

It may give off that idea, but it is not European.

Didn't quite think of that problem... is it possible to create a duplicate thread in the solved section that automatically adds posts onto it as they're posted  here?
Alternatively, I could create a new thread every time a puzzle is solved and then move that to solved, although that might become a lot of work and somewhat re-cause the problem...

The car stereo looks early nineties. Is the car from that period?

Let me puzzle on that one (pun intended) ;)

So we have a non European car that's not a kit from the early 90s with either gullwing doors or a canopy. Off to a pretty good start, don't stop now!

I'd like to remind that this is open to everyone, from those with 0 points to those with 1000.
(Those with more than 1000 need not apply.  ;D)

Technically only one door, but yes, it has a canopy door.

Sorry!

The revmeter indicates a wide range of speed which could be a hint for a Japanese car. Am I on the right path now?

Some say you have some more puzzles in the pipeline, so,  I'll release you and suggest that this is the interior of the recently solved Meteor Boomerang. ;)

The Ongoing Insides...
« Reply #19 on: August 06, 2010, 12:46:11 PM »
The dash layout is similar in concept to the current-model Civic, which I sit in every day, so my first guess was that it must be a Honda.

I think this is the Honda OSM (Open Study Model) concept car which was first shown at the London Motor Show in 2008.
As I suspected, very quickly. Honda OSM it is, well done Tom.

To whomever split the threads, I like the idea but I think in the long run this thread will get VERY disjointed and increase the admin/mod's work a lot as well, so I've come up with what I think would be a better idea - input accepted of course.
This thread gets re-merged in here in it's original form and remains in the Pro section. I then create a 'Solved' compilation thread in the Solved forum and every time a puzzle gets solved I'll add another post to it with the image of the solved puzzle, the name of the vehicle and the puzzler's name.
In my mind at least that's a lot easier for me, keeps this thread intact and coherent and requires no external input from mods/admins.
I'll put this in both threads in case one gets skipped over.

Without further ado now, the following inside.
