Ten drivers, ten cars.
You have to identifiy the pilot and the car, and match them two by two. Each pair will get you one point.
I must say that I don't know what make is car 7.
You can make guesses about just the pilots or the cars but it can help others to steal your point.

Another point can be earned by telling us precisely why, when or where the pilot and the car can be matched.

And, last detail, there is a connection to be made beetween all these pairings. Once found, you may find the task easier.
Now the pilots...

Racer 1     Racer 2

Racer 3     Racer 4

Racer 5     Racer 6

Racer 7     Racer 8

Racer 9     Racer 10

Well... crap!

I KNOW Car #1 is Bobby Allison's #12 NASCAR "Coke Machine" Monte Carlo ... because Kevin (of the first generation MC Club) created a replica:
http://www.chevyasylum.com/cort/200711/RT11260702_CMrear_JPG.html

But which driver is actually Bobby, I'm not exactly sure.  I think it is either between Racer 1 and Racer 6, and I'm leaning towards Racer #6.

BUT ... I suspect I've just helped somebody steal my POINT.  ARG.  Ah, well.  Hey ... at least I can say I was helpful ;).

You're may be right I believe, but in this case the car is not driven by Bobby Allison.
So it's someone else you have to look for in the pilots' pictures.

Knightfan, I did my checking and you're perfectly right, this is Bobby Allison's car.
But if it's not him at the wheel, who is driving it?

I leave this puzzle in the rookie section for 2 more days, then the experts will have a chance.

Car #10 is a 1950 offset HWM which would make it the car driven by Kirk Douglas in sports car trim in the Racers (aka Such men are dangerous) but I don't recognise him among the drivers - I'll guess at no 8.

Not the answers you are looking for:
Car #6 is NUB 120 the works lightweight XK120 that was rallied very successfully by Ian and Pat Appleyard
Car #4 is the Lotus 24 of Trevor Taylor rounding the Karussell during the 1962 German GP
Duncan Rollo

The more you learn, the more you realise how little you know.

That's right. I'll post pictures to prove some of this later.
And knightfan was right, this is Bobby Allison's car, and he drove it in the racing sequences.
Bridges plays Junior "Jackson" (inspired by the career of Junior Johnson) and "Junior Jackson" was painted on the car's roof for the close-ups.
