Do you know what this little car is called?
A name and approximate date will earn you a point, but as ever, any extra detail you can give would be appreciated by everyone.

I've a feeling this won't last long with the experts.
I offered the rookies a bonus point for identifying the driver, but I think that's a bit too generous at expert level, so now there's just the one point up for grabs. :)

Scampolo circa 1952

Told you it wouldn't last long!
This is one of several cars built and raced under the name Scampolo from 1948 onwards. My source has this as a 1951 car, and I'm fairly sure it's the 500-cc BMW-powered Scampolo 502 which was raced during the 1951 season by Walter Komossa, one of its co-designers, who is the driver shown in the photograph.
Close enough, though. A point is yours.
