Is there an Expert knows the answer?

I believe this is the Gounis Fiat-Crosley built and raced by Charles Gounis in the early 1950s.
Charles Gounis was apparently well-known for television's 'Willie the Wolf'.
Gounis enjoyed arriving at each race with a new, and sometimes wild, paint scheme.
The car was quite competitive in the H-Modified class.

There is a website that states exactly as you have said, but the site I picked up the picture from refutes it and describes it as something else (although closely related).

Therefore I have to say no, that's not the answer, but you are very much on the right track so you should be able to find the correct answer very easily.

I'll lock it for you for 24 hours to give you the chance!

Good hunting!

Very interesting Carnut - my source which is supposed to be infallible has also quoted the wrong information,
It is a Miller Crosley, the third built by Don Miller for the H-Modified class.
I have to say this is a case where I believe the 'net rather than the book!

Well done woodinsight, you got it.
You're creeping ever closer to that 200 point mark to reach Professional status!

Thanks but I'm quite happy being an Expert.
It's a bit like changing classes at school where you leave good friends behind.
You haven't too far to go either!

Oh I think I have at least a year to go to get those 70 points!
Maybe I'll catch you up a bit then as points are extremely hard to come by once you're a pro!

I don't believe it'll take anywhere near as long as that!
It's true though puzzles are getting harder to solve as time goes on and the easier puzzles have all been solved.
If I do eventually reach Pro status I'm going to spend most of my time saying - damn, I knew that - when I can't do anything about it!
