Not photographed from the most common of angles, but yes, it definitely is a Panther Six!

I saw one of these IRL in London for about twenty years ago. Very special car indeed.

The one I saw was black. It was on a study trip to London. We had one day that we could do what we liked, I took a walk around Hyde Park in search for special cars. The Panter Six was for sale and stood in the inner corner of a car shop at the east end of the park. I do not remember the price tag, but I do remember the car.

The area around Hyde Park is a great place to spot exotic cars - both in the showrooms and outside. I usually take a walk there every time I'm in London. Last time I visited the local Mercedes dealer, which is listed as one of the few Mercedes dealers that also sells Maybachs - and after having chatted to an employee for a while I mentioned, on my way out, that I had read that they sold Maybachs, but I didn't see any. So he told me that not just anybody was shown the real nice cars - and then he showed me what was on the other side of a blacked-out glass wall in one corner of the showroom: A Maybach 57S and an SLR McLaren. Nice...

I went in Montecarlo, and there are a lot of parking lots under the place, and you can park your car near a Maybach, a 599 Fiorano,a F40 and a F50, few Phantoms, several Mercedes (500\600 of course),BMW Z8 and 2 (TWO!) ERRE20,....as it happens to me! and I was there for just few hours...and along the way I saw a BMW M1 in the Pro-car version, a De Lorean and God only knows how many Bentley,Rolls, Aston Martins Lamborghini.......

In about 1994 I saw this black-and-white Panther 6 up close, as it was taken out of hibernation. One of two cars, one 'official' and the other built up later from parts. Sadly it wasn't a runner back then.

I did a search for panther before I posted this and came up with bubkis!

For the record, the source listed this as a Panther Super 6....

As I've said before, I think there's something wrong with the search engine...

So you saw this one:

I recall that picture being in Road & Track.  Though I recall the picture, the puzzle picture I would have never guessed as I've never seen it presented that way.  Very interesting car.
