Solved: PN #119 - Vauxhall 14-6, 1939/1940
« on: August 12, 2010, 05:45:54 AM »
I don't know what is this car. I got the photo yesterday from the local Transport Museum, they are also trying to identify the car. So if you have an idea, you have to support it.

Proof will be available in mid-September when I will have a chance to identify the car by its number-plate.

Eventually a point will be available for the correct identification

It looks very much like a Vauxhall Twelve-Four of 1939

Is there a '14' written on the bumper?

It looks like it PJ.
The car must be a Vauxhall Fourteen-Six of 1939/1940

Woodsinsight nailed it.
I was going to find it eventually, but I was still looking for the british 'Fourteen' (Austin - Morris - Standard - etc...) when He found it right away.

Thanks PJ - it was a toss up between the 12 and the 14 and you helped me to make the final choice.
You deserve a point too but I'm trying to catch you (in 20 years!)
