Well, it was just a question of working through the states. ;)

This is the Benson Automobile, the first car to be built in the state of Oregon. It was started in Portland in 1904 by inventor Nils Benson and assistant James Chance, and was completed in its present 4-cylinder form in 1906. Although more were planned, this was the only car that was built. It was stored in a shed until the 1950s, and restored in the 1970s. It is currently on display at the Oregon Historical Society's Museum in Portland.
