This Corvair Limo still survives!
Its current location is down on the Jersey shore.
I picked it up "for FREE" in Queens 2 years ago.
She runs and is driven to local shows during the summer months.
I also have the paper trail from when Raymond Loewy turned it over to one of his assistants.

Wow!
Nice to have you here, mymokke!
There is not much material about your car around, do you want to share some pics\info?

I found some pictures I took when I brought her home.
She looks a bit better now that I had the chance to wash and wax her.
I really like the use of 63 Riviera tail lights, not crazy about the fake grill.
The caning on the drivers side has been removed over the years, I don't know why.
The passenger side is still intact (all hand painted NOT a decal) amazing execution.
I need to modify the size so I can post the  pictures.

Interesting car. Well, at least you won't see yourself coming and going.

With the chauffeur in front and me in back with the burled wood, mohair seating, and my feet resting in the plush wool carpeting, I doubt I'll worry about the comings and goings outside. ;)

That's actually quite an investment. One day, people will realize what a find that is.

Since posting here on Autopuzzles, I've been contacted by a member/representative of the local CORSA chapter to photograph and write an article on the Loewy Limo.
We're waiting till the weather warms up.
Hopefully the spring will bring an interesting article.
Also, a local director has expressed interest in using it in an upcoming independant film.
My other car, (dailey driver) 1949 Plymouth, is featured in the soon to be released film "Paradise East".

I'm happy to hear that!
And don't forget you can post also an article here, about your car or Loewy's work, because I'm sure you've done some researches about him!
I've never seen a picture of that car before I found it in an old magazine, and now we are in contact with its owner...isn't this a great place ?

Since my last posting I have been contacted by a representative from the Loewy estate.
They were worried the car had been distroyed, and would like for me to keep in contact with them.
I was informed the drivers side caning was lost due to an accident in the past, and the car suffered from electrical troubles (I have had none, so I'll keep my fingers crossed).
When I received the car it came with a file box of documentation about its transfer from Loewy to an assistant, who kept it registered and serviced for many years until she stopped driving.
BTW, the Loewy Cadillac is being auctioned this week at the Barrett Jackson auction in Arizona.
It has undergone a full restoration and is stunning in Gold with White roof.
