1952 Austin sports car prototype made by Jensen for the 1952 Motor Show, but Jensen didn't quite have the car ready in time.....

That's right, it is.
So Leonard Lord got talking to Donald Healey at the Show instead, where Healey had his new Healey 100 on display.  And the rest, as they say, is history...

Interesting how similar the side elevations of the Healey and the Jensen are (and the MGA, come to that).
Opinionated but sometimes wrong

Do i remember something about a healey not being all that ready either - shown with its 'face' to the wall so to speak - or was it that it should have been ?
In '51 the mille miglia frazer nash at earls court had a lot of mga about it , and then there is the tojeiro which was said to have come out of a ferrari spending a night slumming while on tour ...

And what about that Austin Somerset grille!
The rest of the car is so attractive, but I would say not particularly British-looking!

I should add that the car appears to have been converted to a hardtop coupe by R. Hollingsworth in the image.
Presumably this is the same car?

I doubt if they made two, although having said that the horizontal grilles flanking the central grille are a bit different.

The car in the puzzle was wearing trade plates, so that wouldn't be of any help to tie them in.
