Anhui Anchi Automobile Industry Co. Ltd is to produce ultra-mini car that would hold the title as the cheapest car of the world.
On the global stage, Anhui Anchi automobile co. Ltd is pretty much unknown except to a few Chinese car enthusiasts and people in the trade. Anchi are mostly known for their basic SUV's and pick up trucks that are sold largely in third tier cities and the countryside.
Anchi are now on the verge of producing an ultra mini car, however, it has yet to be put into the national database of soon to be produced cars. The new mini car, codenamed MC6320A, (MC: Mini Car) measures (LxWxH) 3190mmx1670x1610 and weighs 830kg. Anchi have not disclosed the price but some sources indicate that the car will be cheaper than the current cheapest car from India, the Tata Nano.
According to Anchi, the mini car will come with a choice of three engines, an 800cc, a 1.0L and a 1.1L. Interestingly, the 1.0L and 1.1L will come with the option of having a CVT gearbox fitted, otherwise for manual lovers it will be a 5 speed manual.
