Ford V8 special built in 1937 for Gerhad Macher. I'm sunsure who built the bodywork.

I nearly said the Experts will 'soon' tell us but I didn't think it would be quite that soon!
That is indeed what this car is.  It was apparently built by Gerhard Macher on a 1937 Ford Taunus chassis with a Ford V8 engine and the bodywork was said to be 'inspired by Paul Jaray designs'.  Perhaps he built the body himself; must say that windscreen does not look at all 1937 so not sure if all this info on the Web is really right or not.   The info also says he entered this car in the 1939 Alpine Speed Trials.

The point is yours barrett but if anyone has more (correct) info look forward to reading it!

Maybe it was, I can't remember.
I found this the first time whilst looking for information for the Jupiter thing - I have a feeling Carnut found it in the same place  ;)

Wasn't it requested by Mr. Barrett himself?

Actually I think you might be right, yes..
Can't really remember, and I've had this one on file for a while!

You're probably right; I think it was a Porsche site actually..
As I said before, I'm not happy that that windscreen dates from 1937; I wonder if this is some clever photo-shoppery?

Well I know this photo is published in a book about German streamlined cars so I would doubt it's been manipulated. I'm no expert but that two-piece split screen with curved glass doesn't seem so unusual. Perhaps the 1937 is the date of the chassis, and the body was completed post war? However this looks like it might be a shot from the Alpine Trial which would date it at 1939...

Wendax

I can assure you that the photo isn't photoshopped.

The body was built by C. H. Weidenhausen from Frankfurt who also built the Glöckler-Porsche later on (http://www.autopuzzles.com/forum/index.php?topic=7276.0 ).
