I think this is a styling proposal for a coupé version of the Simca 1000, designed and built by Facel in about 1962.

It looks rather good, but for whatever reason, Simca opted for a Bertone design instead, and this never got past the prototype stage.

That is indeed the story as I have it too.
The Bertone proposal was also a very nice little design - early Giugiaro of course.

So I'm afraid your question is answered; it could very well have been either of those as there were so many fairly similar-looking ones around that era, but Simca is correct.

Seems a similar thing happened to my reply and it has appeared as part of the quote so it looks like I didn't write it..  Now I see what you meant.

Maybe this happened because I pressed the 'Modify' button by mistake instead of 'Quote'; we seem to be able to modify other people's posts now, which I'm not sure is a good idea...  There could be some unscrupulous points-pinching by that possibility!  Not that anyone on AP would do such a thing of course...

From what I can see, you can only do this in topics which you have started yourself.

I presume the idea is that you can effectively act as a moderator within your own threads. So, for example, you could remove this superfluous discussion from the end of this thread.  ;)
