That's a Swallow Doretti (chassis # 1160) bought in 1955 by Peter Kirwan-Taylor from Welbeck Motors of London who must have been unhappy with the original convertible body style since he removed the rear half and transformed the car into this interesting coupé within the next few months.

I hope this gets restored someday soon. If I remember rightly, the back half and front half are owned by different people and despite their good intentions they've so far not managed to make a start on either! I've been wanting to see this in the metal for several years, I think it's a genuinely great looking car, a huge improvement over the standard Doretti.
If i'm right this was only his second design to make it into a full-size car, and the third was the Elite (or perhaps the other way round?) Whatever, clearly a man with an eye for proportion .
