This looks like the early test "mule" for a GM forward control van type vehicle ...... I'm looking for the pictures now.

This IS the GM test mule for the frontwheel drive van of the 1950s - L’Universelle

That's right.

Attaching the magazine article (which gives the name of the source in the file name) is about the same as including links in the solution. Please be careful with that.
