1946 Checker D prototype

Welcome to AutoPuzzles.
Yes, it is a 1946 Checker prototype so you have earned 1 point.
Before I move this to the Solved board however would you like to give a bit more detail about why this car is a bit unusual not just for an American car but for any car of the period?

Although the game is about identification we like to get as much detail as possible about the Puzzle cars and we love to learn!

This puzzle is of course locked for your reply so no-one else can give more details - until it's moved to the Solved board that is.

The Checker D had transverse-engine front wheel drive.

Exactly! A transervse straight 6!
A real vision of things to come, apparently not pursued due to technical difficulties with the drive.
A well-earned point.
