Without wanting to start the official/unofficial discussion again, this car was commissioned by Wanderer. But then the Auto Union merger took place in June of 1932, and the Typ 8 and Typ 9 collided with the Horch range. So the project was cancelled, Porsche was paid all his expenses and kept the prototype. The engine soon found a new home in the engine bay of the Röhr 8 Typ F.
